100% RHS has partnered with Rock Hill Schools, Winthrop University, and Rock Hill School Board member, James Burns, to support our Dual Enrollment students by connecting them with local businesses and providing educational scholarships. James & Jennifer Burns hosted a Keys to the Future Gala to raise money for Dual Enrollment Business & Leadership students along with future Dual Enrollment Education students. With the help of amazing community businesses and members, we were able to raise over $200,000! This money will be used for Education Scholarships for Dual Enrollment students- they will be presented as the Marlie Dru Sullivan Education Scholarship to honor the life of a beautiful young dancer who was taken from us too early. Marlie’s parents are both Winthrop alumni and big Winthrop Eagle supporters. The Sullivan’s are a special part of our community and we hope these scholarships will honor Marlie’s legacy for years to come.
Businesses & Community Members who donate to this scholarship fund will have access to The Portal; an online program that Rock Hill Schools created to connect Dual Enrollment students with the community in the hopes of establishing future job opportunities. Businesses will be able to establish communication with Dual Enrollment students who sign up for The Portal; creating opportunities for summer internships and interviews.
